For many years, since our beginning in 2011, we have worked with the brand Vegtrug, producer of what we believe are the best growing tables on the market. We offer the installation of a Vegtrug in Barcelona and its surroundings.
The installation includes:
* Large Vegtrug growing table
* 420 liters of organic substrate
* Seedlings, seeds, and herbs of your choice
* Installation in your terrace, garden, or patio (an additional fee will apply for properties without elevators)
* Administration, planning, and execution of the project

Our process
Vegtrug details
These growing tables are made of spruce wood sourced from sustainably certified plantations with the FSC seal. The VegTrug is designed for long life due to its solid, durable, and robust construction. The wood is treated with non-toxic elements. The name “VegTrug” is a combination of English words (since the designers are British): “vegetable” and “trug,” an old word for basket.

Important characteristics
* Its height makes it easy to work with. The “V” shape is ideal for older users and/or those in wheelchairs.
* It keeps slugs and snails away from the crops (an important detail for its use in gardens).
* It can easily be covered with an insect net or a plastic cover to function as a greenhouse.
Size of the growing table:
Large: 180 x 76 x 80 cm, substrate volume = 420 liters
Extras:
There is the option to include an automatic irrigation system with an exudate hose (installation cost varies depending on water source access) and/or a drainage system to collect excess water from irrigation (or rain).
We typically have a (near) permanent stock of this product, so we can usually install it within a week.
Huertocity
Raised bed made to measure
As an alternative, we also have the “Huertocity” raised bed.
We have designed our own custom raised bed to fit your available space and growing preferences. They are made of FSC-certified wood, lightweight and treated for durability.
Important features:
– The raised bed is robust, aesthetic, and primarily functional as it provides a larger growing surface than a conventional table or planter. Due to its greater volume, it allows the roots of the crops to develop more effectively.
– Since it is positioned slightly above the ground level, its presence creates an insulating effect, moderating extreme temperatures in the area beneath it, resulting in energy savings.
– We can build this raised bed with a 100% watertight system, with a drainage tube directed to the terrace drain or to reuse the excess water.
Sizes of the raised bed:
The sizes are flexible and can be adapted to the available space. The most commonly installed approximate sizes are:
* 200 x 100 x 40 cm, substrate volume = 660 liters
* 200 x 100 x 30 cm, substrate volume = 460 liters
* 100 x 100 x 30 cm, substrate volume = 230 liters
* 150 x 75 x 30 cm, substrate volume = 260 liters
Since they are custom-made, we typically need about two weeks to prepare and install a raised bed.
Irrigation system:
As with all growing tables, we offer the installation of an automatic irrigation system.
